The MIL came over the other day to visit the grandbaby…kept talking to him refering to herself as mommie…I kept getting confused, thinking that she was talking about me……if I’M confused, this poor child is going to be LOST!
She made the comment that her daughter was a little jealous of my baby because she thought he would replace her daughter as the favorite grand child. Then “mommie” made some comment about how her daughter is never scared to share her feelings with her and if she (“mommie”) ever did anything to upset me, or say anything to upset me, that I should just tell her. Then she asked if she had ever done anything in the past to upset me…. I Said no…..I am NEVER going to open up that can of worms!! Never Gonna Happen!!!!
On a side note, I have a friend who is pregnant. Her MIL is OBSESSED with breast Feeding….has asked her about it several times and has also asked to watch one of her daughter in laws friends B-Feed…..this makes me a little uncomfortable (the DIL…my friend….too) I understand that B-Feeding is healthy and normal…no need to make any comments about that aspect…..but what’s with the obsession, lady? Just as I feel it is any woman’s right to be open and public about B-Feeding, I also think it is any woman’s right to be private about it…..and I also just think it is a little abnormal for a random MIL asking to watch…..
